Artemesia and cancer

Here is a link to an interesting article on the effectiveness of Artemesia against cancer. It reacts with iron to create free radicals – so this is one of the few times when cancer patients treating their cancers should take iron which is otherwise not recommended.

John House is shrinking his melanoma, AND he has another cancer and his counts are almost gone, I am about to do an update today, his nurse is sending me the new photos and medical report!!! Guayabano – soursop, graviola – a health powerhouse

I have just been to the Philippines where I was introduced to the Guayabano plant. The fruit is one of those tropical powerhouses of nutrition – tastes like a half-way house between pineapple and banana. But it is the leaves of the tree that are particularly interesting. Locally it is used as a cure for constipation and my own experience of it suggests that it works very well! People also say they ‘feel better’ when they drink the tea. No need to go to the herb shop, instead they just go out into their garden and pick the leaves. Then they boil up seven leaves (magic number) in a pot of water for 20 or so minutes and then drink the tea over the following days.

In Brazil they call this plant graviola, which is a famous anti-cancer remedy. In the Philippines the guayabano tree is everywhere.

Chinese herb fights tumours

The herb, thunder god vine (lei gong teng), is a Chinese herb generally used for inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.  But researchers from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine have found that it can also stop tumour growth.  Its active ingredient is triptolide.  Researcher Jun Liu, professor of pharmacology and molecular sciences found that low doses of thunder god vine blocked cell growth in 60 different types of cancer, and even killed off some cancers in laboratory conditions.  (Source: Nature Chemical Biology, 2011; 7: 182).

Moringa Olifeira – potent anti-cancer herb

Moringa is a herb that is found in many parts of the world from Africa to the Philippines. Everywhere it grows it is used in traditional medicine as a general health support. Interestingly it is a powerful anti-inflammatory and so beneficial to people suffering from arthritis – even rheumatoid arthritis which is notoriously problematic as well as blood pressure and blood sugar levels (so beneficial to diabetics). For cancer patients, the news is that lab tests have shown it to induce apoptosis in cancer calls and additionally it provides a chemical obstacle to cancer cell proliferation.

Cannabis Cancer Cure Suppressed?

Such evidence as there is strongly suggests that cannabis – and even purified extracts from the cannabis plant – such as THC – do have curative or protective effects. But it seems as soon as research comes up with evidence of this it is suppressed and funding is withdrawn. Cannabis fails on two counts

1. it is a natural herb therefore cannot be patented – only ‘cures’ that are potentially profitable are wanted.

2. it is an illegal drug and therefore its use raises too many critical questions as to why it is illegal.

In neither case are the patient’s interests seen as paramount.
