ASPARAGUS CANCER CURE?

There are a number of anecdotal reports that asparagus could be a cure for cancer Here is an example:
“Case No. 1, A man with an almost hopeless case of  Hodgkin’s disease (cancer of the lymph glands) who was  completely  incapacitated.   Within 1 year of starting the asparagus therapy, his  doctors were unable to detect any signs of cancer, and he was back  on a schedule of strenuous  exercise.”

The problem with unspecified anecdotal reports like this is they cannot be relied on.

However, anyone deciding to take the risk of asparagus overdose – should cook and blend as much asparagus as they can afford and drink a few soup spoons of the stuff everyday. Canned asparagus appears to be OK.

Do you know if pickled asparagus has the same anti-cancer properties as fresh and regular cooked asparagus? Thanks!
